Research Interests:

Dr. Adesogan has been awarded over $ 1M in research grants and published over 100 technical articles. His research interests include using chemicals, enzymes, and microbial inoculants to modify the anaerobic fermentation of crops and grasses, and thereby improve their digestion and utilization for animal growth and production. His recent research has focused on using esterase, xylanase and cellulase enzymes to improve fiber hydrolysis during the fermentation of corn plants and various tropical grasses. This work aims to improve the digestion and energy availability from fast-growing, high yielding plants that abound in Florida and other subtropical and tropical climates but generally have poor nutritional values.
