Research Interests:

Dr. Yiding Cao joined FIU in 1993 and is a Professor in the Mechanical and Materials Engineering Department. His professional career has been in heat transfer, thermodynamics, and energy conversion power systems, such as electronics cooling, heat pipes, gas turbine engines, fuel cells, internal combustion engines, heat engines, and refrigerators. He has been working in these areas for more than 20 years, and has more than 100 publications (including more than 54 journal papers) in these areas and holds 10 US patents. He was the PI or Co-PI of a dozen of research grants from the Air Force Office of Scientific Research, Air Force Research Lab Power Division, Air Force Research Lab Turbine Division, DARPA, Office of Naval Research, and NSF in excess of $ 3.5 Millions.
