Education:
Ph.D., Environmental Engineering, Stanford University
Research Interests:
Dr. Jeff Cunningham is an assistant professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of South Florida. Prior to joining USF in 2005, he was on the faculty at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. Professor Cunningham earned his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering at Rice University, and his master's and doctoral degrees in environmental engineering from Stanford University. Professor Cunningham's primary research expertise is understanding the way chemicals move and behave in the environment. Recently, he has begun to apply that expertise to determine if carbon dioxide (e.g., as generated from coal-fired power plants) can be sequestered in deep underground geologic formations as a means of mitigating global climate change as induced by greenhouse gases.
