Research Interests:

Dr. Erickson’s research targets the sustainable production of crops for food, feed, fuel, fiber and recreation. Specifically, the focus is on nutrient, water, and carbon cycling of crops and cropping systems as affected by environmental conditions, management practices, diseases and crop traits. The position strives to understand mechanisms at the cell, organ, and whole-plant levels that influence the utilization of resources by crops, with an emphasis on nutrients and water, to develop more eco-efficient cropping systems. The recent focus has been on sustainable biofuel cropping systems.
