Research Interests:

Dr. Horner joined the Florida State University Department of Geography in 2004. He has held prior appointments at Texas State University and the Center for Urban and Regional Analysis at The Ohio State University. Dr. Horner’s interests are in geographic information systems and science, transportation, and urban-regional analysis. His current research projects focus on spatial modeling and decision support in urban, regional, and environmental contexts, and measuring the sustainability of urban land use and transportation trends. Professor Horner chairs the Spatial Analysis and Modeling group of the Association of American Geographers. He is on the editorial board of and is a member of two of the National Academies’ Transportation Research Board’s (TRB) standing committees (ADD20, ABJ20).
