Research Interests:

Raju Sen Sharma is currently an Energy Software Analyst and is one of the key leads in the software capability development at the center. He has extensive experience of the full life cycle of the software design process including requirements, definition, prototyping, and proof of concept, design, interface implementation, testing, and maintenance. He also has in-depth expertise of creating software install packages. He is also familiar with national and local building energy codes and standards and has experience with complex energy code calculation procedures. Mr. Sen Sharma has significant expertise in the development of simulation tools and web applications. He has been a key member of the EnergyGauge FlaCom software development team, which is the code compliance software for the state of Florida's commercial buildings. He also has been the project lead for the full-life cycle development of the Technical Support Web application used by EnergyGauge users and also for the in-house automated Real-time Bug Tracking System used by technical support personals, developers and quality assurance personals. Also he has developed complex algorithms and web application to stop piracy of FSEC software products. Mr. Sen Sharma is presently the Principle Investigator for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's "Indoor Humidity Assessment Tool" (IHAT) software. IHAT is a software screening tool that allows users to evaluate the impacts of various design strategies on indoor humidity levels in schools, including the use of energy recovery ventilation (ERV) systems. Mr. Sen Sharma's research interests include computer networks, distributed protocols, real-time simulation systems, data compression, and performance evaluation. As part of his master's program he did research work on the Quality of Service of 802.11 WLAN protocols and his goal is to come up with a new back off algorithm that will minimize the number of collision between data packets and in turn improve the QoS. He is a lifetime member of Upsilon Pi Epsilon, Honor Society in the Computing Sciences.
