Research Interests:

Dr. Shekhar Bhansali is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Florida International University. He received his PhD in Electrical Engineering (1997) from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Melbourne, Australia. His interests are in the areas of Bio-MEMS, sensors, nanostructures and Microsystems. He is the recipient of NSF CAREER Award, Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Outstanding Mentor Award, FGLSAMP Outstanding Mentor Award, FEF Outstanding Mentor Award and USF Outstanding Researcher Award. He holds 11 patents in the area of biosensors, nanostructures and Microsystems technologies, has co-authored over 170 journal and conference publications and is editor of the book “MEMS for biomedical Applications”, to be released in Fall 2012.
