Research Interests:

Dr. Mikhael has published more than two hundred and eighty referred publications over the last 30 years. His contributions are widely recognized. Many have appeared in several textbooks and definitive publications of benchmark paper collections. He has written, among international world leaders in the field of active filters, a chapter on active filters in a CRC volume Jan 2003. He has received several Best Paper Awards (IEEE MWSCAS 2006, 2004, IEEE ICASSP 2005 etc.). He has two UCF Patent disclosures in 2006, one UCF Patent Pending 2006, and one UCF patent granted in March 2006. In addition, he filed several patents while in industry. His contributions have both engineering and scientific as well as commercial value in the field of Adaptive Digital Signal Processing, Active Filtering, High Speed and High Accuracy Composite Operational Amplifiers for Data Acquisition, etc. He has secured sixty-nine funded contracts. The latest are partnerships with Lockheed Martin and Conexant. He has graduated twenty-four PhD's and twenty-six M.S,'s with thesis. He was elected Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, the oldest (founded 1884) and the largest international society (half a million members worldwide) in November 1986 for contributions to Hybrid and Integrated Filtering Circuits and Systems. The Fellow Grade is by election only and is bestowed on less than .1% of the members.
