Research Interests:

Dr. Carlos Álvarez Bel received his MSC and PhD in Electrical Engineering in 1976 and 1979 from the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, where he is a Professor since 1989. His professional activity has been performed in the electric energy systems field in the framework of utilities, research center and Universities. He has been involved in many projects and consultant work with the utilities both in Spain and abroad, in the fields of state estimation, load modeling, etc. His current interest areas are basically related to the distribution and commercialization of the electric energy in the free electricity market, such as voltage quality, reliability of distribution systems, demand side management and integrated distribution management systems.
