Theoretical and Computational studies in:
- Electrons on a curved manifold: Electronic and optical properties of nanoscale toroidal quantum ring structures.
- Metamaterials, nanoplasmonics and quantum control theory: Manipulation of optical excitations and transitions in carbon nanotube rings.
- Theory of exciton generation, charge separation and charge transport in organic photovoltaic cells and related biological systems and materials.
Methodology:
- Tightbinding non-equilibrium Green’s function approach with GW approximation for calculation of exciton dynamics in carbon nanotube and graphene based nanostructures.
- Hubbard model description of exciton and bi-exciton dynamics on carbon nanostructures under optical excitation.
- Access to high-performance computing.
