Research Interests:

Dr. Nahid Mohajeri holds a Ph.D. in chemistry from the Florida Institute of Technology, where she also earned a master’s degree in chemistry. Her bachelor’s degree is in chemical engineering from Amir-Kabir University in Tehran, Iran. Prior to joining Florida Poly, she was an Associate Research Professor at Florida Solar Energy Center of the University of Central Florida (UCF) with a joint appointment at UCF’s Materials Science and Engineering department. Dr. Mohajeri is the founder and chief executive officer of HySense Technology LLC. Her recent honors include: 2014 R&D100 Award; 2013 UCF Research Incentive Award Dr. Mohajeri’s main area of research interest is in soft materials for energy applications, self-healing materials, and heat/fire resistant polymers. Furthermore, she is also interested in color-changing detectors and sensors for hazardous gases and liquids used/produced in industrial and biological applications. In addition, she has more than a decade experience in hydrogen and proton exchange membrane fuel cells research. Dr. Mohajeri holds several U.S. patents and has had more than two dozen papers published. Dr. Mohajeri is a member of the American Chemical Society (ACS), where she is currently serving as an associate on the Women’s Chemist Committee and was a Chemistry Olympiad coordinator, Orlando chapter, from 2008 to 2014.
